In this case, i think you don't need to rotate the sword. Just moving it up and down, would be enough. Of course, if you do as I suggest, then the motion of the hands needs to be changed a bit. The design of this character is interesting.
One real quick thing that might help with this piece is the adding some more movement on the bottom half of the sprite. Specifically, I feal like the lower part of the leg would have some sort of movement when the character moves his thigh and hunches a bit. Keeping it stationary makes it feal very stiff.
It already looks good as is, but if you wanna know a good, effective, easy, and time efficient way to rotate sprites, check out RotSprite. It rotates sprites amazingly cleanly. I've used it on one of my pieces and it did a great job. I recommend looking into it
It's very good! I wouldn't change much because your concept and colors are really good. I think the best way to limit that jagged distortion is to anti-alias. The concept is simple, but it's a very difficult technique to master. I'd try looking up some tutorials on that. There's some helpful tips in the forum so that could be a good place to start. And if you'd like a little more hands on help, you might benefit from making your own thread in the w.i.p. section. Sometimes the forums can be a little slow though, so if you do make a thread, please be patient. If you're patient, whether you make one or not you make one, you'll really benefit. It's just good practice for life to be patient! Anyway, keep up the great pixels and keep improving, my friend.
thanks for the tip :)
