Hm, maybe. Even without perfect alignment, the colors would still bleed together, though, so either darker outlines, or adding a highlight to the sachel's edge, to make the seperating outline more obvious, would help. I'm always a fan of solid outlines, so my bias is well-rooted. Still solid work either way!
This is really awesome. I hope to be able to pixel like this one day
Thank you, I'm glad my influences show through in my art :)
I agree that part reads a bit poorly. The brown part is like a part of a satchel or something like that peeking out. I made it a little bad so it lines up exactly with the pen's pixels. The best fix to make it read properly would probably be to move the stachel thing a tiny bit
Yup, a very nice style, and definitely can see the Disgaea Inspiration! Reminds me a bit of Plenair. One spot that doesn't vidually read clear to me, is the area where her pen-spear and pants detail meet towards the right side. The Black outlines seem to simultaneously suggest that the brown is part of her legs, and part of the staff. I can't tell if it's be aganist the style you're going for to darken the oulines in that area, but given how well the raised hand is defined from the tip of the Pen-staff, I'd think you could get away with it! ;)
I'm glad the weapon came out looking fine. Next time I'll plan the picture better to avoid trouble while making it. Thanks a lot for all the compliments ^-^
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! Yeah I'm generally going for a kind of cartoony feel with my pixel art. I'm very inspired by Disgaea
Really cool! The aesthetic is super cute. The hands and hair especially so!
Very nice color scheme here, also very nice design in general. Your pen spear weapon came out really well in spite of any trouble you might've had. Overall very fantastic work, great job!
Great work! My first instinct was that her pantaloons needed more shading, but looking over the whole image (except for the nicely detailed hair) I realized that it just matches how you've put the rest of her together. It'd you did add some shading, it would add some dimension to the image, but that might not be the style you're working with so you don't lose any points from me because of my personal preference.
The pen weapon stands out to me too, especially tyre detail of the "ink". Very good!
Great job either way and keep up the great OC !
very cool character and art
