The background looks way too tiled! Perhaps you could add some detail to the dark forest, and some details to the house, like a window, a chimeney, and some craquelures, that would make it awesome. I am liking the characters though, but perhaps the outline makes them look both like ghosts. I would suggest taking out the shiny outline, that would make it look very good. However it's a very good job :]
chanfan: with the exception of the outlines, I agree with you, as I stated it's very un-polished; I could've added much more but I honestly just didn't feel like doing any moer work on it.

remove the outlines on the characters and add more detail to it! a window on the house, matbe a torch or something. The big green field on the tiles where the zombie is standing looks very out of place! Add some rocks or something...
