Hah! Fellow Mouse Guard fan I see? The game is indeed inspired by Mouse Guard, Redwall and NIMH. However it will be much darker and oriented towards adult audience. Gameplay is inspired by Quest For Glory series (RPG and adventure game mix).
Most of my upcoming artwork will consist of game assets as I need to create quite a lot of backgrounds and animated characters. I'll probably share more details about the game in descriptions of uploaded content :)
Those are really good! You've inspired me to look up more palettes so thank you for the inspiration.
What is your game gonna be about if you don't mind me asking? Is it related to your Mouseguard-ian avatar?
I have an idea for a game myself involving my Guitar-man, but I'm in the same boat as far as design. I also know nothing about programming so that's a big project I may not be up to. Some say never try, never fail. I'd rather fail 99% of the time... as long as that 1% works, it'll be worth it.
I like lots of Arne palettes found here: https://androidarts.com/palette/16pal.htm
Also amazing DawnBringer stuffs:

Right now I'm trying to work out my own palettes for use in a game I'm making. I have little experience in designing/picking palettes so I'm kind of nervous that I'll screw it up :P
Thank you for switching it up! I'll have to check the Pico8 palette out. It's very retro! I like it! I could see your avatar being a character in an nes platformer. I'd DEFINITELY play it if he was. I guess I'll find out as you submit more art, but what other palettes do you like?
It seems that it has worked! Thank You! :)
I'm somewhat surprised that "detail" version displays in the top and "small" version displays below where the header actually says "PIXEL ART DETAILS"
I guess that I'll have to get used to this :D
I think you can make the preview image zoomed and then the detail image 1x, and it would still show zoomed for your avatar.
Yeah it's pre-zoomed for use as an avatar :) if there was an option for using zoomed in versions as an avatar I would simply leave it 1:1
As for the colors - I simply used the Pico8 palette. It guarantees interesting results and I love working with it. Great palette which belongs in hall of fame toghether with DawnBringer palettes :)
Interesting colors, very readable, and nice and simple. All the qualifications of the best pixel art out there.
My only gripe, even though I know why you did it, is that he's pre-zoomed. For an avatar it definitely makes sense! Still, I'd love to see the x1 version.
I can't wait to see what more you have in store for us.
Yes! I actually had a chance to get one of the original Mouse Guard comics, but passed it up. I kicked myself because the last one I saw mint sold for over $1000. I've never heard of Quest for Glory, but I like RPG and adventure genres. I'll look forward to seeing more of the Huntsmouse because it sounds like my kind of thing.
