At the moment it's far more suited for a darker background. The character itself has been sketched and concept'd for a heck of a while when i was younger, so i thought i'd bring it to 'life'... eheh. Don't know why it's called a newtman cus it hardly resembles a newt... but owel.

Thanks for all the comments, and i see your points. (My monitor didn't really pick up on the black selout problem too well) I'm gunna get rid of the comparison and am in the middle of animating an idle animation. I'll probably put it on a black background aswel... or just get rid of the black selout...
Your overall improvement and awesomeness is undeniable but here you chose the wrong comparison cuz the older is far better, the black selout is a very poor choice.
I like your "passage of time" arrow. Honestly I think you're giving poor George a bad rap. he looks better on his own bg with his name floating above him. Also I think you picked your worst piece on purpose..... eh I'm just jealous of your improvement
his left leg should probably have a darker pixel showing where the leg ends and goes backwards, because it looks abit weird right now as is. also the black selout really isn't helping at all, especially in the parts where it's every other line. other than that it's nice.

Reminds me of an ikustega from EVO on the SNES. I like the design whatever the case.
