I think the lack of dithering really suits this piece. Excellent lighting/shading on this too, 'tis a nice piece of art mate.

Some pixel people get a little dither obsessed.  ;)

Really sharp work Setzer -- your skills keep getting better and better all the time.

Faktablad: It's mostly for practice reasons. That and the backside was very dull and un-defined while it was dark. I know what you mean about my skintones, This guy was supposed to look dead, so it fits for him, not for all of my works, though.

You have very similar skin tones in all of your pixels, kind of a dull burnt brown.  Definitely mix it up a little.  Also, you don't have to use backlighting on all of your pieces, seeing how it's not too common of a lighting situation.

Dithering can add smoothness to a surface if the shades you're dithering through are pretty close together. I don't think the surfaces in this picture are big enough to benefit from it though.

Anyweay... piece looks good. Your two light sources complement each other well.

Why exactly would I dither on somethign as smooth as skin or armor?

I see you have become a fan of backlighting. It¡s really good.

@big nothing: you don't dither on metal, it's a very hard surface
