Well shm31 said everything theres to say, I could also add that were making our game in gamemaker. Im just doing the art and helping a bit with designing and testing the game :)

"Easy" way : Learn to use a generalized game creation program like RPG maker , Game Maker (My favorite, I've been using it since 2005), Multimedia Fusion, Stencyl ... etc

Hard way : Learn a real programming language and make your own game engine
