I'm so glad to see some of the best pixel artists in the world actually making games. The price is a bit steep, but I hope I can buy this game soon.
You are most hardworking pixel artist I have seen in my life. Amazing work.
I havent heard of the other two but I only bought Axiom Verge when it was in a half-price sale AND crossbuy with the then just released Vita version too. I should put it back into my game rotation cos i didn't get far in it yet but I happily bought Mummy Remastered for full price and just on PS4 and completed it within the week cos i was playing it so much so yeah. Guess that shows which of the two good games I preferred. :P You've become one of the greatest pixel artists of this era easily.
@Everybody
Thanks a lot for taking the time to leave a comment, I appreciated it a lot to read all of them =)
@Frost
Is there such a thing?
Well I spent several months full-time on this project, so a lot of work went into it, but a lot of different scenarios were created as well =)
Thanks a lot.
@Zizka:
Yes I am still trying to work on my weaknesses =)
My life as an artist certainly doesn't get boring.
@Genjaha:
Why Unfortunate?
I guess there is Wayforward and then there is YachtClub (which emerged from them)
Aside from that maybe Nitrome.
But yes, a lot of companies rather pour millions in sub-par 3D compared to industry standards than in rock solid aesthetically pleasing 2D.
@Carnivac
There are a lot of similar Metroidvanias which came out this year like Dead Cells, Hollow Knight and Axiom Verge on the Switch. The prices all differ, and I didn't have to do anything with the business side on the Mummy, I just created art.
I am really happy that you liked the game and the art and that you had a pleasent experience with it =)
@Ubisavis
Pixelart now for 7 years
I worked on this since the beginning of this year.
@Taki
Ah well jst have fun creating, that's the only thing which counts, if it inspires you that's cool as well.
Thanks a lot.
@Super17:
I guess the plaster casts and statues are kinda a thing I like :)
But it's cool that you recognized it.
@Lijj
200k would be a bit much, considering that the dev time wasn't that long, but I got paid a fair sum.
Shortlisted for the Most epic dump of the year Award!
I can't even begin to fathom the amount of work that must have gone in to this.
Can't wait for this game to come out :) It looks beautiful!
Amazing art. Unfortunate that it has to be Wayforward to bring games to life with such beautiful pixel art, but I guess few other companies are interested in doing so.
Awesome to see so much of what you've done for that gorgeous game. I usually find the £15.99 a lil much for many indie games (as I find £50 way too much for a lot of AAA games) and even though this one was relatively short, to me it felt totally worth my money just for the sheer enjoyment of the gameplay and the beautiful pixel work I would often pause and examine. So glad that such high quality pixel art still features in games in this age. :)
Makes me think of leaving pixeljoint so i can lie to myself about knowing how to do pixelart again :‘(
Great stuff, your work on the figures is top notch and I immediately thought they were made by you as I first saw this!
Cyangmou, this is stupendous! I hope they paid you like 200,000 euros.
@Everyone
Thanks a lot for leaving a nice and heartwarming comment, you are the best.
@Nether:
You should neithe rhurt your desk nor yourself. Trust me on this one, it's better for both of you :D
Thanks
@Fleja2003
That's cool to know, guess everyone has different faves - as it's always the case.
Also keep up your work danny, at the end of the day you get better with more experience and should just enjoy creating stuff. Quality comes if you keep motivated and work constantly throughout the years on your flaws.
Thanks a lot for your long comment, everything is very much appreciated, I am humbled :)

Thanks a lot
ALthough I just worked as freelance artist on this one, so I just created art and got paid for this.
@shm31
Yes Castlevania was one of the big influences. As a vivid castlevania fan I tried to push the boundaries of what has been made a bit though =)
@Marina
DIdn't intend to hurt your health, but I am glad that you are enjoying it =)
@skittle
solid budgets and experience with a complete game project (tower) change up a lot of things.
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it =)
@snv
yeah it's inspired by Castlevania.
The bell originally was intented to jump on it and i had to distort the ellipses a bit that it won't look too bad.
But later it was just used as bg element.
@Reo
Thanks a lot.
Take your time and look through it, or if you got some bucks to spare buy the game and look at it in action, both works.
Incredible work! Everything about this looks terrific
