I removed the background. I painted this portrait of Qui-Gon Jinn by hand. I didn't use any special tools. I reduced the number of colors. Let me know what else you think is wrong with it because I think it complies with all the rules of decent pixel art. Thanks,

Hi Jbear, This work has over 400 unique colors, which suggests some kind of filter or other error! Also, please submit your work unzoomed, PJ has a zoom function for easy viewing. Thank you!
