This was a pretty fun study of a landscape, but I couldnt stare at it for much longer, worked about a decent 20 hours on the piece over the course of a week or so.

I prefer this at 2x

Oh thank you, glad you think it has the oil panting look to it! Means a lot from you!

Meapers (Level 3 Enforcer) @ 12/28/2017 02:04

Yeah, the river was unfinished as i couldnt really settle on it and i couldnt bring myself to work on the piece anymore (kinda also a test to see how far i can push myself on a piece and im trying to work on increasing my stamina for working on stuff like this)

Meapers (Level 3 Enforcer) @ 12/28/2017 02:03

Oh haha, yeah, i thought people would misread what i was going for at first and decided to go with something else that didnt "warp" the perspective so much, so i thought this was a bit better

They way you've dithered the piece gives it the texture of an oil painting which is just perfect for a landscape study!

Great piece.

Very nice work! (even the deleted mountain that appears in the WIP)
... but since everything is very nicely dithered, the river seems a bit unfinished...

mioscene (Level 2 Petty Officer) @ 12/26/2017 21:16

Very pretty and very nice seeing the progress gif! I actually quite liked the rocky foreground from the earlier progress and thought "noooo" when you changed it up, but I can see why it might not have matched your intent for the piece! And either way the result is beautiful!

Fantastic, i wish i was you.

I really like how that river fades into the distance :)

Fleja2003 (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/24/2017 21:24

Amazing this is incredibly beautiful and very skilled work!

Meapers (Level 3 Enforcer) @ 12/24/2017 19:56

I actually did try that, but it felt less "full" to me, but perhaps ill go back someday and try again, I did try to not make it simpilistic, but it wasnt turning out too well for me

I actually like the simplicity of the water. Makes for good separation effect.

Omrii (Level 4 Button Man) @ 12/24/2017 08:24

The texture on the cloud and mountains is fantastic!!

I agree with WreX -- the water looks kinda bad and lacks a lot of detail. If you're finished with the piece for now then maybe you can crop out the lower part since I think that the upper 2/3rd of the piece would look great if it was by on its own.

WreX (Level 1 Depressed) @ 12/23/2017 17:42

i see anyways i think you should give it an update when ever this is a good piece should make this little part better

Meapers (Level 3 Enforcer) @ 12/23/2017 16:35

Yeah, i could've and it might've helped the piece a lot but i just felt exhausted and couldnt bring myself to work on it anymore

WreX (Level 1 Depressed) @ 12/23/2017 16:19

this looks very good i just feel like the water could improve on the "closer" parts to the screen
