I suppose it's better to move on if forcing yourself to continue will just make you hate it. The most important thing is that you learn something I guess.

I've never done a portrait before so I'd probably never finish that thing if I wanted the quality of hair to be comparable with the face (I've been doing different kind of pixelart since 2010 and I've finished maybe ten works at all) 

So yeah, if I don't finish pixels for good this time, I'll probably learn a lesson from this one.

It's a bit shame to leave it that way, but it's very probable that it's the only way to show people my work 

Those facial features are top notch. Especially the eyes! It seems a shame that you should upload it like this, with the hair incomplete. It's so close to being done! Maybe post it to the forums for help on how to do the hair?
