Usually people take stuff from videogames and they make fan art for it. This time I went the other way around and I put a very well known piece of art by Willaim Blake inside the appropriate videogame. Hey, it's good even for pixel artists to do master studies once in a while. Colors were difficult to do because I was using 4 bits per R,G,B channel, like the SNES would, but towards the end I gave up and did microadjustments in an 8,8,8 space.
You can see how towards the end the pixels shapes on the face resemble a very busy game of tetris. That's when you know you're actually thinking about relationships between these shapes effectively.
In a couple of hours I'll link to a youtube video of me doing this whole image for anyone interested in process. EDIT: here we go: https://youtu.be/5WRhsQlNmpU
