i use puppet animation in after effects to animate and then i clean it up after... its great because AE doesnt add any colors that arent in the assets and wont anti alias your segments so its a suprisingly good pixel art tool once you experiment with it a bit... i just end up having to fix up the outlines by hand once ive made a whole sheet
