anyway the color count on this is probably atrocious but it was originally a thing for me to focus on finer details, by doing the props individually and spending a bit more time then usual on them and trying to learn how to give things a bit more texture besides dithering and binary lighting, and I'm reasonably happy with it, even if some of my work is now covered by ramparts.
The sky color is a bit off even in going for a sort've overcast scene (didn't want to make it a night scene, in hindsight maybe removing some blue would've done it), and while the ramparts being flat color blocks might seem a bit at odds with "more detail", ultimately I couldn't think of much to do to them other then dithering or making them wrecked (whcih I also didn't want to do)
It's a bit rough around the edges but ultimately I'm happy with the detail work on the crate and chest, and not unhappy with the piece elsewhere, and I think it's also important to learn when to leave stuff alone and just let it be a color. |
