It was a free hand style that I was going for, it makes it quirky imo. The style comes from using a stylus pen to create the outlines. I started to clean it up (making the black outlines a single width) but it lost that fresh doodle look that makes it fun.

I like to think of it as a 'Yoshi's Island' approach to pixel art. I'm working on more traditional styled piece at the moment

And the 'bad' animation is only meant to get the message across in a very simplistic way.
