Excellent.

Has a very old school Atari ST kind of vibe.

Man, this is so cool.

Ok, I fixed this - now 2 values darker thank blue. And considering 3 values difference in green channel (G ch. have biggest impact on luminace, at least in 12bit palette) should be ok on any setup.

Yeah, totally get where you are coming from. Different screens are a pain. I think to me the main issue here is that the dark red and dark blue are very close in terms of value, and the red is somewhat brighter perceptually. Which is why it does not work as AA for me, like you used it.

I'm testing my gfx on quite good monitor (calibrated), apple gama + iphone, Ipad (retina) - looks ok for me. But I have to admit that it is always problem.

For example on windows/other os,  varius screens (and even apps, browsers) effect is different. So additionaly for demoscne releases I'm trying my stuff on more devices/systems (windows gamma is different, but even the same setup on slighty different display model may vary a lot)

Using srgb proflie for files helps a bit but many apps just ignore it (aseprite)

Dark red I use also for ambient light. And it mixes perfectly on my setup with generic 50% dither (for my taste at least)

But I get your point here - this scheme is v. dangerous ;) but kinda plays well with 80' vibe and old games style.

thanks for effort!

PS

For me it looks overcontrasted and detailed + too much 'local' light, AA "brutal" color-scheme - but I think it fit challange theme - or maybe just my approach. ;)

It was nice experience anyway ;D 100% outside my comfort zone

The latest version is a lot better in this regard, but the darkest red still does not quite work as AA from darkest blue to black, imo. It is a bit too saturated and as such kinda separates itself, if that makes sense. This kinda stuff might be down to different monitors though. But in general red pops out a lot more than blue.

@ptoing: Hi, there were a couple of updates (and its not over yet) so I'm not sure  what are you referring to. :)

I like palette anyway, colors chosen not by accident ;)

I like it. Cool design. That said, some of the colours bite each other pretty bad. Like the red you are using on the bottom right for dither and AA does not work imo. And the mid blue and super sat red also are quite clashy (see those single blue pixels on the eyebrow on the left.
