Hey snv; i was considering making various tiles for the trees, but it ended up being more complicated then i anticipated, but i will give it a go in the future!
Regarding the colours/Palette, i was really focusing on minimising the amount of colours used this time round, so i had to sacrifice making a seperate palette for characters, sorry
Thanks for the comment Romantic! I'll experiment with darker/different colours for the barrels and crates, Either that or make the floor darker.
The general design looks clean. I like the road texture very much. Those guards are very well done, specially the red ones and the blue ones. They are way better than the older ones. The wooden crates and barrels are somehow hard to see, because the floor is too bright and it seems it shares color with those objects.
Cool. Although tile palette is too contrast, stealing attention from the characters, and these small trees look stupid. I would have made trees at least the human height and introduced some tiling for them, so they would work like forest spaning several tiles.
Comparison to your old piece:
The colors are significantly better, the contrast is significantly better, and your shading is also, for the resolution, significantly better, more clear, and more stylized. You've definitely gotten much better. Keep at it friend <3
