Well then good news for all of us, we will prepare competitions and events more frequently from now on :)
Gecimen: no, not at all.
heh..
...just look at my gallery, I will give you some stats:
about 90% of my gallery works are unfinished (by my standards)
near 100% - are from some kind of competition
(exeptions for both categories are 'commercial' pieces)
from the other hand - 100% work I started NOT for competiton are still on my hd (and most likely will end there)
...among unfinished works for competitions ;D (including about 15! weekly challenge pieces from last decade or so)
And why its that way - its not easy to answer and I think its not the perfect place
lets say, doing pixelart helps me feel better sometimes - and I found some years ago that competitons works for me to put pieces more or less together.
Why did you say you'll be submitting less works? Anything offended you?
not only I - it works for everyone - so it seems fair
and not week, because then (working all week) only few people (last day) would reflect that 'advantage*' in voting.
nvm - as I said, I left my work as it was, and I will follow the rules - whathever they will be
...btw - as you can read in news section - you may feel relieved ;) no more 'wip' pixels
...and I will be submiting far less works
peace
*I never started 'weekly' before sunday evening so...
---edit
I just realised that I'm not responding to skamocore xD
so please don't take this personally - just tried to explain my point
Another way to look at it, you have 1 week to create a piece for submission into the "weekly challenge". Working on it afterwards wouldn't be in the spirit of a weekly challenge.
Ok, np let it be this way
But I see it different - For me its disadventage that for some time (or all time in most cases) people will vote for my worse, unfinished version of gfx, because (by my fault) I was unable to deliver final version (as always)
But please take care to specify it in rules for the next time :)
and thanks
It would be nice for people to have the peace of mind that the pixels they're voting for are going to remain unchanged during the week - particularly given that there's no way to change your vote after it's already been cast.
Anyway, your submission looks good as it is already. But you can wait until the voting is over to make whatever changes you had in mind.
@skamocore: and why is that? there is nothing in challange rules about updating. not that is much to update this time...
Make sure you don't change it after the voting starts though.
yep - cool, (really) - but as I understand, problem was with not finished works and updates.
Without 'we are not too strickt about that, just don't submit half finished works etc. bla bla' statement I most likely cannot take part. Trying to be fair.
But if 'more or less put together' ist still ok - then sure. :)
