It's just too many similar ones. The base panel is fine with only a few colours and it looks great, it's just the glowing streak that appears across it that massively increases the colour count because of the AA and varied transparency of it (which I now realize I should've mentioned in my first post, I'd made it sound like I meant the base circle). Try recreating the effect by hand using colours from the base circle, you have a wide range of reds there :D
Ok, so I should darken everything of that tone then? Or do you think there are too many "reds" in general.
By "auto reducing" I mean it looks like you drew it with non-pixel art tools that create a ton of colours automatically, and then reduced the colour count (or maybe not even that). From careful hand-pixelling, I'd expect a much smaller amount of more distinct colours, only as many as you'd need to create the circuitry effect and anti-aliasing.
I wanted to make it look like faint circuitry, kind of mimicking the circuitry in the cuff just outside the eye, maybe i should add some darker tones?. What's auto reducing?
The red thing in the middle seems to be auto-reduced? Lots of noisy single pixels of very similar shades of red D:
Haha thanks man, yeah I totally phoned it in on the thrusters, if I'm feeling super patient again I'll probably go back and fix it.
Aright. This is amazing. The thrusters in the back seems a lil flat and dont show much form. Maybe edit that a bit :D
really impressive
