It would also work well if maybe the game was played from more than one persons perspective, maybe past memories or the mind of a coma patient trying to regain conciousness by dealing with the psychological problems of a world created in their own mind could be made in a noir style and then present day events or another person in the real world could be played in colour and as the two parallel stories unfold, little bits of colour from the real world could enter the B&W one!
I'm babbling, ignore me!, it's your game after all I just got inspired by the piece and this is what I came up with. Sorry!
I love the piece anyways and if you do intend to make a full game from this mockup I would definately play it!!
A very interesting concept and well designed, the choice of a noir style for a futuristic game seems a little strange, but cool, is the game a detective story to fit the tone? I like the mix of futuristic with B&W,reminds me of Metropolis.
I myself would play a game with just grey tones, but after time I think it would get a little hard on the eye!
I like how clear the text panel shows.
What about a game that changes from noir to colour, akin to Wizzard of Oz!
I would play it. Contrary to what most people seem to be saying, I think you could important emphasize moments/cutscenes etc by using only 3 or 4 greys instead of adding color. Just an idea.
