This piece certainly breaks a few conventions of pixel art, but I think it's really cool. I think the shading is very well done.
I think the excessive use of dithering is cool, but perhaps not necessary in some of the shades. You could have used fewer colors and the piece would look more or less identical, but the color count doesn't appear out of control either, so it's better that I just say that this work is very unique and is a great piece of art.
I understand I am not a fan of the color choic either but its based on retro gameboy color pallet
This really reminds me of US dollar bills. I love the way you used the green hues. Great work.
