Please forgive my unpolite inclusion. I love your character design and use of colour and light are amazing (and an object of my kind jeleaousy), but from the "pixel art" view they would require a lot of cleaning. There are lots of very jaggy lines, squareish cluster shapes without reason, and noisy single pixels in unjustifiable places that looks very random - just left behind after a nonchalant strokes, which is very painterly. It all seems just like jok wrote - very skillfully painted with pixels. But there is a difference between art made with pixels, and "pixel art" which is control over each pixel placement (or at least a smart ability to pretend it) which is a continuous pursue of most of us here.
Thanks for the critique man, lighting and color have been my main areas of study lately, so it's good to hear that's working for me.
Not sure I fully grasp your meaning about painted vs pixelled tho, could you elaborate a bit?
very well ...painted
not so well pixelled - a bit raw, anyway cool design and colors/light
Thank you! I really enjoyed this challenge prompt. Looking forward to next week's.
You are more than forgiven, that is actually very helpful as it gives me something tangible to try and improve on. I'll aim to clean that up in the future. Thank you both @gawrone and @jok for the constructive criticism and for the explanation.
