Well ... I recently had no time to pixel or comment and wanted to submit a little something just now ...

Well, it's a simple scene showing a hired gun black woman called Glenda, standing on a road behind a sunset ... She's quite wild. I'll may try to animate the scene with wind effect  on her hair. If you have some ideas, I'll be glad.

It's a 59x208 gif with a palette of 29 colors.

The new version of Glenda is now animated ... 47 frames. A plane cross the sky making Glenda's hair waving...

Love it! (right-click, save-as). The blood dripping gives it a grotesque feel. The jet disturbing the grass with the fly by is bril-i-ant. Kudos!

Wow I really didn't expect such crits and comments ...

Lawrence : Well you did a real long analysis and it's a real nice source of improvements. As for the colors number, the reason I didn't optimized them more is that I first worked this scene separately with another background (old factory) and couldn't make it realistic enough. As for the light source, it's for sure a flaw is the scene. Especially the front arm having the gun ... I should redraw it better

Imagician : Strange that I also had the idea of a somthing flying upon her ... Which would make her hair wave wildly and her skirt too ... I'll also think about eyes blinking. I'll try that if I have some time.

I like this and I don't know why. I would not over smooth it tho. Its pixelart.

pretty nice.  looks like you oculd do more with the scan line effect.  the left leg (her right) looks wierd along its front side.

Nice work. But now for the crits :p You really could recycle colours and antialias every single pixel of this, there is such a wide range of colours to do it with. I appreciate the aa you've tried on the white line on the road, but you've only used one 'inbetween' shade of grey, when there are myriads of colours you can re-use to make that line ultra smooth. The front-lighting seems to be in front of her, to the left a bit, but the right hand side of her right leg (in our view) is lit up when it shouldn't be. Same for that side of her hair. If there IS actually a lightsource reaching those places, the light needs to show up on the other places it would hit if it were around that side of her. The knuckles of the hand holding the gun shouldn't be light and saturated like that. If that hand wasn't obscured from the sun by the gun and her thigh, then sure, you'd have subsurface scattering of light in her fingers but the sunlight can't get there so those knuckles should be darkened (they are facing downwards after all). Speaking of subsurface scattering, since the sun is almost directly behind her arm, the 'outer' part of her sleave should be much brighter, albeit with the silhouette of her arm inside it. I'd add a tint of sunlight to (our) right hand side (back) of her torso (and maybe the back of her legs too), with a slight dash of those peach colours you've used on her hand. Despite all that, this is still pretty good. I really like the horizontally striped style of dithering on her body.

Very very nice! Pretty face, even though it's so small. I also like the reflection on her hair. I'm not sure what to think of the "mixed" dithering style, but I think I like it .

Suggestions as demanded:

If you do the animation, my alltime favorite the "blinking eyes" should not be missing.

Maybe also some things could cross the sky, preferrably some powerfull stuff, semanticly spoken - a group of jet aircrafts for example, but only small and as a black silhouette, maybe leaving a trail as well. Since the arrangement on picture and the picture itself due to it's aspect ratio is very static, the aircrafts should cross exactly orthogonally, that is horizontally in this case. But that's just my opinion :) Alternatively, the aircraft could fly from behind the viewer exactly straight into the back of the pic (kind of flying over her head, giving her a shadow, and a strong wave in her hair of course in the moment of crossing).

Wow, great work. Nice background, and overall good figure. The border is a nice touch.
