As for the piece itself, I like the composition and the palette is interesting - but the pixel placement is very scattershot. Those stray grey pixels on the leg, for instance, mostly seem to be there because you didn't bother filling them in. You can get the cool gnarled effect and be more deliberate with pixel placement; it's not a binary.
