That's one brave experiment, and a nice job too!
I'm a bit bothered by the use of dithering on his cheek and hand, which makes them appear a bit messy when they should be the visual focus of the piece.
You might have followed the ref closer there with brighter flat highlights.

Wow, now that is something. I love all the detail here (the cufflink particularly made me smile even though it seems so unimportant – it just shows the love that's gone into this). Just thoroughly wonderful work (also, love the tags).
Oh Manupix, there is sooooo much about this piece that I want to change in hindsight - use of dithering instead of the darker brown being the biggie. (And I'd probably make the sleeve more of a straight line rather than the weird sorta-zigzag thing that's going on there.)
