It strikes...
Following the skeleton's gesture, she slowly walked towards the mirror. The cracks spread across the surface of the glass as she got closer until, when she was only a few steps away, the mirror burst.
Shielding her eyes from the shards that sprayed into the room, she did not immediately notice that her reflection still stood in the empty frame. Then, with a shriek, it lunged forwards, its eyes burning with green fire and a look of hatred on its face.

My third Pixelween 2020 submission.
Back with another piece inspired by Dario Argento's films, but also this week by the 'Fauna of Mirrors' entry in The Book of Imaginary Beings by Jorge Luis Borges, as well as the novella The Tain by China Miéville (itself inspired by Borges).
The wallpaper, which I've decided to keep using as a motif (unless we're going 1-bit next time), is based on this pattern.
