With talk of new rankings for Pixel Joint, I decided to make one of my own. I spent a good while on this one (I couldn't be bothered to keep track of how long) and I felt like uploading it now, rather than later.
When thinking of rankings, BSA (Boy Scouts of America) was one of the first ones to come to mind. It fits perfectly with the current number of ranks, as there are only eleven in Boy Scouts.
From left to right, they are:
Tiger Cub, the rank given to Cub Scouts when they enter the first grade, or when they turn seven.
Wolf Cub, the rank given to Cub Scouts when they enter the second grade, or when they turn eight.
Bear Cub, the rank given to Cub Scouts when they enter the third grade, or when they turn nine.
Webelos, the rank given to Cub Scouts when they enter the fourth grade, or when they turn ten. Webelos is short for "We Be Loyal Scouts" and is pronounced without the S at the end. If a Webelos scout fulfil all of the requirements for the highest reward in Cub Scouts, the Arrow of Light, they may then wear the Arrow of Light on their uniform into and through their time as a proper Boy Scout.
Scout, the rank given to any scout upon first entering the Boy Scouts, no matter their age (Unless they are under the age of eleven, which case they will enter Cub Scouts) so long as they have memorized and have lived out the Scout Motto, Scout Slogan, Scout Law, and Scout Oath. For each rank after, a scout must pass a Board of Review, who will look through the scout's handbook and make sure they have fulfilled all of the requirements for each rank, as well as pass a Scout Master Conference.
Tenderfoot, the next rank after Scout. This rank is given to scouts that show Scout Spirit and have fulfilled their requirements of fitness, citizenship, and personal growth.
Second Class, the next rank after Tenderfoot. This rank has similar requirements to the previous rank.
First Class, the next rank after Second Class. This rank has similar requirements to the previous rank.
Star, the next rank after Second class. This rank is awarded to any scout having earned at least six merit badges and performed at least six hours of community service.
Life, the next rank after Star. This rank is awared to any scout having earned at least five additional merit badges, performed at least six additional hours of community service, and served in a position of responsibility for at least six months.
Eagle, the final and most esteemed rank in all of Boy Scouts. Should a scout earn this rank, that means they have fulfilled the requirements for every previous rank, have earned at least 21 merit badges, and have planned, organized, and managed their own Eagle Project.
Any and all feedback is welcome! |
Correction: There are technically thirteen ranks in BSA.
The first is Bobcat, which is a recent addition to BSA (It was added when I left), but Bobcat is given to any new Cub Scout, regardless of their age. They will later on be moved to the appropriate rank.
The other is the Arrow of Light, which goes between Webelos and Scout, but it's more of an award than it is an actual rank. Plus the rest are more important than the Arrow of Light, so I decided to exclude it.
