Oh my god!! TOO CUTE!! I love these character designs - kind of like halfway between Nitrome and MapleStory? Very cool.
Now, I do wonder whether this piece could be "optimized" for gameplay purposes so that the contours of the level architecture read cleaner at a glance - thicker outilines on the edges of the platforms, more pure dark color at the center of these big chunks of platform, stuff like that. (Also maybe a larger HUD for the player character rather than the awkwardly squished one.)
Hello, thank you so much for the in-depth comment and for the very kind words and critique! :) That's a very good point about the thicker outlines, it's not something I had tried! I was struggling for a bit on how to seperate the background from the platforms while keeping the color scheme the same. Can you explain what you mean about the darker color on the bigger chunks of platforms? It would be a huge help, not sure I understood! Thank you again!
