Meet the fourth creature in my interpretation series. This firey penguin is hollow, like a ceramic tealight house, and carries a burning coal inside his body. Comes in normal and Emperor forms (my husband likes the pun).
Prompt:

I usually start these with a completely black background, and only create the outline and black details closer to the end. That doesn't really work when the base color is black, so I had to find a different workflow. Penguin feet are surprisingly gnarly-looking and it was a learning experience to stylize them down into something cute that fit the space without going full Duck Feet about it. My one changed color was the white, which I brightened to contrast with the yellow better.
