Really good stuff :) I keep finding a new detail every time I look at it!

Just amazed by this. So polished and satisfying. Such a sense of volume and lighting, with such an economical palette... wow.
If what you need is ideas, it's easy. I always thought of a system where you play combats as tactical like old Fallout or Divinity type turn based combat - but with a twist. The turns are not like player - enemy but rather like JRPG with characters get their turn when their initiative bar is filled.
@SteveM: Thanks for your thoughts. As one can the in the timelaps (probably) most of the textures are reuseable and even most of the details. It's similar to your good insight on how metal slug did some of the details.
@Mirre: Thanks a lot, that was my goal: The look and feel of a real game. Just HUDs are missing, maybe. But depends on the overall gameplay.
@Phil: Thanks! I tried to get a good sense between details and reusable elements.
Thanks for all the comments!
@Gecimen: Yeah, that is also my concern and probably the reason very few isometric RPGs exist in the first place. I don't have any ideas for battle of puzzle mechanics right now, but we'll see.
I saw the timelapse .gif for the last screenshot on your Twitter. I've done a bunch of backgrounds before but it's always helpful seeing how other people get into the mindset of making their own. I'll probably keep a copy of this collage of screens somewhere in my 'pixelart inspiration' folder for decades to come. The third screen in particular is real refreshing somehow, looking at all the indents and erosion in the rock. I'm reminded of ptoing's tweets on Metal Slug and discolouration of graphics for suggesting extra detail, or how Metal Slug in general has a lot of nicks and cracks on buildings, slanted objects, just lots of layers of material overall. If you make a base structure or object you can reuse it willy-nilly and add different fractures or oddities to each one, and suggest a living breathing world without driving yourself crazy with meticulous separation of [metaphorical] snowflakes.
Sorry I haven't got much to offer in terms of critique.
Really cool! I saw these over on r/PixelArt too. Love the style and all the details, but especially the moth. It really looks like they're from a finished game.
I'm absolutely in love by this piece, i just keep coming to take a better look at it!! Much congratulations, mate, it's an incredible work of art!
The easiest "thing" you can make out of these would be an adventure or puzzle game. Surely an RPG would be amazing but also many times more resource consuming (system, story, battle mechanics, characters and so on) so you would need a team from a publisher.
wow! I saw your timelapse video from one of the images on twitter !
Really strong BOF4 vibes, and those pictures looks better than the game, congrats on doing it.
Thanks a lot pals!
I also hope it can become something, maybe not these exact scenes, but a similar artstyle.
Nice! I had seen the second scene before, but with the new characters it is much more lively! I love the colors and the textures!
I hope you find a way to turn this into a game, would look beautiful!
So many round staircases... you're crazy
But seriously, the palette is really nice and serene, the pixeling is perfect and the scenes are amazing. I'm in love with those rocks on the third image also...
this is so damn good, holy shit. Just flipping through my reference folder out of boredom and never realized just how meticulously polished and planned out it is. The lighting is especially lifelike, as if you could walk right in
