Last year for the Newgrounds Neo-Geo Jam, I spent the time up until the day of the deadline working on a short film made of entirely original sprite assets, an exercise in ambition and shortcuts that I'm still pretty proud of. One of the many ways the film pays homage to the hardware is a massive amount of sprite deformation (stretching, zooming, colour-swapping, rotating), so it seemed appropriate to create a small collage of scenes involving pure art while still getting the general conceit of the film across.
The alternative way to represent the film on this site would be a collage of screencaps, which would be overkill (just a ridiculously massive sequence of .pngs to pick and choose from, then copy-paste into one big file), but I might put one together later on. |
So much memories
