The avatar looks good at first glance, though I downloaded it to check the colour count and it registers around 96. If you created this in a program using multiple layers - to check how the composition looked if the opacity on some layers were changed around, for example - you may have forgotten to properly reset those layer settings and accidentally ended up with way more colours in the finished piece than planned.
