The palette on display with all these characters is fantastic, it has a very strong '90's Capcom' energy that I aspire for - helped by the same use of outlines to define muscle structure where the light is blocked from reaching it. What interests me is seeing sprites where a colour used primarily for AA gets used as a secondary shadow tone - the upper-right boxer's tricep and left leg, and the middle-right martial artist's deltoid in particular. I find this technique really hard to pull off without seeming to blur or muddy the arrangement, so I'm saving this collage to get a better understanding of the clusters.
Love the SF2 arcade machine, really feels like you used every pixel!
Thank you Cels, she is just a design based on the 80's
I love the one in black and white with the butcher knife
These are all aces. Golden Axe lady got thicc and I have no idea how you managed to cram so much detail into the SF2 arcade machine. Excellent. Who is the lady with the light saber and yellow jacket tho?
Thanks StevenM, a lot of Garou: Mark of the wolves sprites use this technique, might be worth having a look at.
