32 colors, 200x200px.
An imaginary screen in an imaginary Amiga demo. I picture this with a nice chiptune and sine wave text scrolling by at the bottom...
Process: first sketched this in RGB, at this res. Made a 256 color version but I felt it wasn't tight enough yet to share. I wanted to get to 32 colors and really work it pixel by pixel. I picked my palette and crunched it down which gave me an ungodly mess to start pixel work from. Definitely had to redraw every pixel (several times), except the flat background areas obviously. And rethink my palette choices a few times.
The snakes were a lot of fun, but tricky to convey the scales and twisting/curving. I could keep tweaking them, but I'm not sure there is an end to it. The blue pixels on them are there by choice. Although using only the greens was "cleaner", I felt the blue variation added some iridescence.
For ref, looked at this image for snake head angles when I needed it https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91KqiMMo7kL._AC_SX466_.jpg
Enjoy!
