This is the first of some Garou who I made for a large pixelart that I working actually. It´s my garou (werewolf) character from Werewolf: the Apocalypse... an odd Fianna branch... I´m making another Theurge ( shaman ) garou, some Formori corpses and a Bane. The light in this art is defined by the bg ( I´m working in it ), a battleground with a big moon and fire... but it´s possible that i draw it different. It will depends of the position of the characters in the scene. I´ll want an unkempt fur, ´cause Nighthowler is in the middle of a battle, raged and posessed by the Battlefrenzy of the Celts, similar to the Scandinavian berserker rage. I suppose that I´ll work in it a bit more to adapt the art to the final lage art :)

Wow, that is awesome!

user
thor (Level 1 Depressed) @ 9/8/2006 14:50
Your werewolves are really cool. I noticed the wyrmfoe has a different colour sceme and thus more reddish lighting, I was wondering if under moonlight the differences could hinder the scene, since in moonlight colours tend to be similar. Either way, looking forward to your bigger image.

user
Sgrum (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/27/2006 01:12
Ok. I´ve submited the complete Wyrmfoe. You can see it now in newest!!!

This has great energy. I'm liking  5*

user
Dark Rogue (Level 5 Rokkyu) @ 8/22/2006 12:56
I wouldn't mind if it was Tingle...=D Like I posted in your other one, all of these have a splashscreen look to it. It's really cool how you do your stuff, good job.

user
Sgrum (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/21/2006 23:13
Yes. It´s a goblinoid formori (please, see my previous comments and you know about it)

user
Ro83rt (Level 1 Jukyu) @ 8/21/2006 18:08

Zoomed in, it looks like he is holding some sort of poor little goblin.

user
cerealkiller54 (Level 6 Made) @ 8/21/2006 17:46
Crap. Double Post! My bad...

user
cerealkiller54 (Level 6 Made) @ 8/21/2006 17:44
That thing he's holding reminds me of Tingle from the LoZ Series.

user
cerealkiller54 (Level 6 Made) @ 8/21/2006 17:44
That thing he's holding looks reminds me of Tingle from LoZ.

Thanks boy. I´m a great fan of your works :P

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 8/21/2006 05:37
I am a great fan of your fur shading.

user
Sgrum (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/20/2006 23:14
Yeah, I see. The angle seems odd ´cause the toes have a bit distance between them to have more area to support the entire body. Thanks for you comments. Carry on if you see another odd thing ;)

user
Setzer (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 8/20/2006 17:28
what I meant was the angle of the toes, they don't seem as "planted" as the other foot. I'm sure you knew that though, with as awesome as this is ;)

user
Sgrum (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/20/2006 08:02
Setzer, of course that the left foot are in different angle than the right. Nighthowler stays in front of an enemy, defiance him. If you put in front of a fullbody mirror with your knees like the draw ( your legs opened a bit : one knee to the front and other pointed to the mirror),  your feet stand in line with the knees :). And if you put only on your feet toes like a werewolf (it´s similar to have an extra articulation), you must opened your feet a bit more to maintain your balance and not fall down. Basic anatomy :)

user
daporta (Level 7 Colonel) @ 8/20/2006 07:21
wow!!! that's really great...texture and shadows are amazing ...

user
Setzer (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 8/19/2006 16:21
so violent, I quite like it, although his left foot seems to be at a different angle than his right [on the ground], but that could just be my lack of knowledge of werewolves. I love the cloth, the fur, the blood, and in general the picture. very well put together.

user
lunarknight (Level 2 Quiet One) @ 8/19/2006 10:49
I think it's amazing, easily a favourite!

user
calacver (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/18/2006 14:25
Seriously nice! Top rating from me.

user
Sgrum (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/18/2006 10:38

And yes, the goblinoid is slightly scrappily pixeled. The final pixeled deppends of the bg, so that I think that work more in it is a waste of time if I´m not sure about put or not the goblinoid in the scene or change it for another more humanlike formori... I accept suggestions about it.

user
Sgrum (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/18/2006 10:26

Thanks for you comments.  Adarias, the piece was created to be seeing in 100%, not to be zoomed. Sorry for that, but  I only thought in the general apperance of the large pixelart  that I´m making, and a scrappy style was the better for the characters, although this makes a grainy or dirty art. ´Cause that I use the "scrappy" style: I wanted a terror pulp comic apperance, with edges and scraps to make it more savage.

The "item" is a viciously slayed goblinoid formori (why not?)

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 8/18/2006 10:21
That is very cool. Waiting for your scene in anticipation .

user
iSTVAN (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 8/18/2006 06:27
Definately on the scrappy sides of things, like jalonso and adarias mentioned, but it seems to work okay here. Interesting use of black here. I like the blood dripping hand effect, but I think the item he's carrying is slightly too scrappily pixelled.

user
jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) @ 8/17/2006 22:25
OMG, someone else is making "scrappy"* pixelart. You have done well my friend.
*Thats what the previous comments refer to. Some hate it, others are confused by it. I'm convinced the implied/suggested texture and details make for a more organic and chaotic piece. Great job!

user
dm404 (Level 5 Detective) @ 8/17/2006 21:52
That's quite nice!  I like the fur texture on this.  I'm strangely remided of a felt painting.

user
Adarias (Level 11 Bonsai) @ 8/17/2006 21:18
it feels a bit grainy/noisey/dirty at 200% and up, but at regular view its quite nice. what is he holding? anyhoo, good work on the overall job though i would have loved a more zoomable version.  4/6

user
Badassbill (Level 11 Big Foot) @ 8/17/2006 20:13
I'm not too keen on some of the scetchier parts of the shading, but very nice non the less. I love those feet.

user
nihilyst (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 8/17/2006 15:51
Wow, that's great. The shading is brilliant.

user
milkyjon (Level 4 Murderer) @ 8/17/2006 15:34
Im not really an expert when it comes to dithering techniques or anytghing, but it looks really nice to me. I like the matted furr look. Huggkruka. Isnt that thing that hes holding a lil goblin of some sort with his head bowed forward???

user
Meka (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/17/2006 15:31
awesomly detailled! Good job! There is a too blood on his rigt hand! ^^

user
Huggkruka (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/17/2006 15:20
Nice. The brown parts work so-so, but the rest is awesome. I've never seen pixel gore before(and I cannot make out what poor thing he's holding...)

user
Sora_Keyheart (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/17/2006 15:13
Great job!
Keep it up!

FAV.
