I use the tiling feature in Pyxel Edit - basically I fill the canvas with two different tiles in a checkerboard pattern, then I can draw silhouettes with two different colors and it will replicate in the right places. I adjust the shapes until they make sense and then fill in the silhouette with the sprite details! I filled in the sprite with Aseprite since its features are more ergonomic for me.
Edit: And when I fill the shading in with Aseprite, it's on a single sprite that I've extracted from the PyxelEdit document
Mesmerizing! What's your process for these -- how does everything fit together and tile??
If my arm weren't so shot I'd be tempted to make even more entries
This is going to be a tough one to beat. Maybe if a person enters a chain of 4 or 5 sprites tesselated together?
And how do you think anyone will dare to enter the contest now? :)
I also predict another blue ribbon. This is wonderful!
It's only Wednesday, and you now already post the winning piece??
