The elephant is actually a musketeer chess piece! It can jump two squares diagonally, so it's sort of a mix between knight and bishop.

Wanted to ask the same question. Maybe if it is a raging male in musth, can just teleport. So you basically just name any field you want to attack (bonus rule - cannot move without attacking).

Love this progression. Though, I'm kinda interested how the elephant moves.
