Yeah, I did this for a contest back on Pixeltendo [sprite compo 60] and I was always thinking how few metroids tSR has, so I've been spriting up a storm to fill in the gaps left by other people.
Rouge, you picked out the one thing I didn't do myself: the pallete. But I have a very good reason for that: I was using the Metroid Fusion style Omega Metroid to get the same colors since thats the style my sprites are going to be in for my submission.Up next : Spritesheet of this for tSR.

....I screwed that completely up, didn't I? I mean Metroid Queen, and i'm guessing Mother Brain and Metroid Queen are two different beings. My bad. I like the palette, is it custom?

I don't like the solid colors on the leg, but that seems to make it more metroid-ish. Good job, 5/6. (I honestly, don't know what Mother Brain looks like, so I'm just judging in coolness factor. ;) )
