First off, I'm not a pixel artist and this is meant to work as a sprite base. So this guy looks pretty crude. His final size is meant to be around 16x32 but I'm not sure how to improve him. This is my first attempt at a walk animation. He is for a top-down adventure game that I'm writing. I'm going for less of a cute cartoon feel and more of an anime/semi-realistic look. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I agree with vrine but I have to say that this is surprisingly good. I rarely see this kind of three-dimensionality, weight and energy on sprites this size. :)
