This piece is wild - I love the decision to keep the hair in textmode, which (along with the pattern on the top) pushes you attention onto the face because that's where all the detail is! Very cool.

The animation here is  mesmerising to watch. The patterns in it reminds me of those looping animations of Conway's game of life.

The flickering reminds me of CRTs. The end result is pretty cool! =)

Great stuff. I take it you did the PETSCII stuff first and then worked over it? Really love the animation you did as well. Works amazingly well.

Absolutely wonderful self-portrait. The animation goes so well with the palette and the happy expression is great. The hair is very impressive, especially considering it didn't change much from the text mode version.

Really interesting animation effects, which I think liven this up a great deal. I like the way how you made the blue pullover pull the eye up towards the focus.
