Thanks Gawrone! I'm glad you like the eyes. I spent an evening focusing on them and was really happy with how they turned out... there was a lot of trial and error. With regards to the significance of the newspaper hat, I'd like to say it was done as commentary on the quality of the Australian print media, however the reasons are more simple. I have a massive head which is too big for an off-the-shelf pirate hat, newspaper hats are "old school" and I think they translate pretty well into pixel art...

I wish to ask what is the meaning of newspaper hat on a boat. Is there a personal context for it? The skill in here is amazning, aspecially the eyes.
