The white takes shape of the world, really great to see the process.
oh, thank you! yeah, it turned out to be a bigger project than i first anticipated :]]
Is really nice to see a behind the scenes pieces like this.
the final piece is insane mate! never seen anything like it
thank you very much! :]
i think i'm pretty slow compared to other artists actually :| i just did it in parts, sometimes taking a really long breaks before regaining a will to continue working on it.
That's really mesmerizing !
A ping pong would have been nice + ease in and out to bring rythm!
Can't imagine the burden of making those 120 frames, guess you must be super quick at it.
thanks, man! :]
it's rather simple: it is used to hide / reveal the layer it's applied on. black areas will be transparent, white areas opaque.
I have no idea what luminosity mask is, but this work looks like took an overwhealming amount of work and it all paid off. The effect is simply amazing.
PS. this piece has 90 frames and i had to redo parts of it because they didn't look right. so overall i drew around 120 frames by hand.
i can't recommend to anyone, it was insane.
the original image was supposed to be just a little excercise, but then i started to get "cool" ideas. i don't even know how long this took - during the time i was working on this mask i had to take a lot of breaks and do other stuff instead.
i haven't seen this applied to final image yet, but i really hope i won't have to return to it. in the worst case i'll ditch the whole "mask it out" concept. :E
i'll post final image later when it's finished, but there's still a considerable amount of work on it.
thanks! 1994 was surely my most complex work to date. and yet it didn't turn out exactly as i envisioned it :D
