hmm, while the elements are all good individually, there is a lack of contrast between ships and bg. "Major Stryker" dealt with this by increasing contrast on the ships, "Tyrian" used that approach and also tended to make ships shinier than most of the BG.

This is very nice. It might be a little dark but it looks great overall.
