Had to do this one fairly fast as the contest ends Aug 31st. As it is there will only be two characters ready for the contest version with a five character special edition (with more features added that were cut due to lack of time) This guy's more the greying, aging, tough leader type. A guy a lot more in control than the more out of control first character but still not someone you should piss off. First character is at http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/13299.htm

He looks like Nixon in the preview. I wanted my Nixon picture...

Other than that, it looks pretty good. You've captured the roughness perfectly, but I'd like to see the image again but softer.

Wow wow wow, this is great. I really love how you incorporated that horizontal-line effect; I don't even know what that's called if there's a name for it. I love the nice heavy contrast, thick lines, and saturated colors. This is a fantastic piece with a lot of real weight and solidness to it. Bravo.

Space2 - It's a PC game. 2d top down. The stripped down contest version should be ready tomorrow, and the special edition (with all the stuff I wanted to put in but didn't have time) hopefully around Christmas time.

Chaindog - Yeah I think I prefer the other one's skin tone but it looked too yellow on this character due to his uniform. I've gotten quite used to this one's pinker tones though.

d-p - yeah I think that's a personal preference thing. I like it so I did it but can see that not everyone will like it.

I can't get enough of your portraits. They've got a certain charm that you don't even see in CGed pics. That said, I prefered the skin tone palette of the other character, but the rest looks a lot nicer.

It looks awesome! Great design, and I really like how you do faces. The expressions fits very well together with the description. I also always thinks it's so cool how you do the sort of lined shading.

Awesome character, nice hair lightning, facial expression is simply great. The stubbles dont work to well for me, maybe because of the horizontal lines. Great work.
