Executives at Japanese company Genjitsu decided to undertake a substantial project: Akasuki, an extremely humanlike droid with cutting-edge AI. The project was covert, and robotic engineer Takaki Nishibori was in charge of creating Akasuki’s prototype, which he completed after years of dedication. To test their product, Genjitsu arranges for Takaki to travel to California to deliver her to one of America’s largest tech companies. To accurately test that she passes as human, only the CEO of the tech company knows that she’s a droid, but when gruesome accidents start happening at the headquarters, he begins to wonder if Genjitsu maliciously sent her to infiltrate the company.
