As for the pic itself, despite not being what I'm normally into, I think the style you've chosen here is quite fitting. It's like... a calculated mess. Looks sketchy, but I think there's skill and good intent backing it so... I like it.

Id like to apalogize for my last comment, which i wish i could edit. saying that it was "too punaji" was pretty uncalled for.

The hugeness and shakyness of this actually makes me think of the scene where Frank is in the movie theatre with Donnie while Gretchen is sleeping. It might help that I've seen this movie and loved it. xB The theme music for Donnie Darko is just... incredible (the track "Manipulated Living") ANYWAY. I think it could really use something, but I dont know what. All I know is that as a fan of this movie, I like it. <3

sean, a large blank background is like, um...  tar i guess you could say...  its is great for sealing roofs, but you dont want to use it for carpet...  it has its places, and this is one of them.   if there is a large dark space all aorund you, then you say frank there, you would be scared shitless, i think that is what he is trying to convey with this piece.

if you just clean the mask up a lil bit, 8 bitty, this will be a great piece

Yes, negative space is used all the time to make pieces more dramatic, and it certainly works in this. I like this quite a bit, but I agree, the face looks like it could to with a bit more attention.

Actually i think the background is like that to emphasise the character's creepyness, and perhaps because 8bitty will be using it as a banner or signature somewhere. As noticeable in the preview, if it is cropped so much you just won't get the full effect. I think anyway, i spose 8bitty can speak for himself.

just because something has a blank background doesnt make it a wip...

since the main focus of this piece is the frank's mask, you should add more detail to it, make it pop a bit more...

i'd consider this a WIP for the huge blank backgroujnd..nice work on that face piece though

It seems pretty simple but it's actually done really well. I must say i do like it. I think it would look better if he was centered on the banner though, and if you're feeling upto it perhaps some actual animation on the face, rather than just a satic wobble.
