this is good for learning some animation! I only dislike the trees, everything else seems on cue, but why do you have a canada and alberta flag?

The soft colors looks alot like pokemon advance. Some of the bg's to.
The characters on the other hand definately doesnt look anything like pokemon.

Actually, sausage, the inspiration was Megaman Battle Network, but drawn at a straight angle instead of isometric.

Saying that this reminds you too much of Pokemon is like saying Sonic reminds you too much of Mario, and both are ridiculous statements.

Wow, such cute graphics, I love how you made the desks and window. My little brother has been playing those megaman games like crazy, I really do see the resemblace!

Great looking overall. I don't object to the trees. I do find the some of the greens a bit too saturated. The "art board" sign is much too AAd to match well with the rest.

Yes, the trees must be changed. Even though this is totally awesome and probably would've made me wanna learn as a kid (though, I seemed to be one of the more enthusiastic ones.) Another thing is that the diagonal lines (windows on the roof, the roof edge on the left) all look a little jagged as well. FIx those things, and this will be funtastic adventure for both us pixel-whores and those kids who need some learnings! :B

I love this style!  I created a game in this style before.  It's a lot of fun to work with!

My only gripe would be the trees.  They look a little ... off ... stylistically with the rest.  I think they look neat (like Zelda on the SNES) but they don't seem to blend with the rest of the images.  But that's just me. The piece is still awesome!

Very nicely done. I can see the MMBN influence. It's a very simple and effective look.
