This is the title image of "Lands of Gore" (working title), a mobile phone RPG game.
The game itself is rather simple. One discovers random dungeons and fights enemies. It's possible during game to wear the armor the blonde guy wears in this image does, but you start with clothes equipped and without a real weapon.

We could've made more of this idea but it was one of the programmer's first projects so the game itself isn't a long-time hit or so. You play it, you know everything, then you delete it. Nevertheless, we made some money with that, albeit not enough considering the time we spent developing :)

Since I'm color blind (problems distinguishing red/green) I had to take some colors out of other games. E.g. the color of the pillars, I took them from "Secret Of Mana 2" (Siken Densetsu 3) screenshots.

The fighting scene was really fun to do, but there's no dynamic in this image. They could as well be made out of concrete and painted. But I learned a LOT while doing this image, e.g. how to use my pen tablet for pixel art :)

I just started to laugh because I didn't think about shadows at all! :) Silly me...
Well, all that color stuff is very hard for me because of my above mentioned "color blindness". Hopefully I'll just learn how good and enjoyable colors look like by learning the RGB codes. That's the only way for me to create a palette :)

Pretty nice image!  My only criticism would be with the grittiness of the warrior character's pants, and the lack of cast shadow.  I think adding even simple shadows would greatly enhance the level of depth.

What do you mean? Too many shades and colors on a certain area? Or like the "blurry dithered" shield or axe? :)

Yea it's a bit messy, I think you could get rid of a couple of colours. Somehow the protagonists fuse a bit with the background as well, maybe shadows and a bit of hue shifting wouldn't be bad either. My favorite part is the column though, I like things that look worn :)

Lovely! A bit too textured tho.
