@amberMechanic: The left looks great too, and the work there is essential to the movement and flow of the piece. I'm just really taken with the shape of the thick pink lines. It definitely looks like a complete piece.
@Wayuki I'll all for hiding weird bits of detail in pixelart like the background figures. I always think there's more I can do though.
@b236 It's really a whole lot of stuff I wanted to try out and I was lucky I could make it into all work together. It's sort of like a scratchpad file which became a piece.
SeDiceBisonte Thanks! Yes, the right hand side works way better than the left. Maybe I should have waited until I could get it up to scratch but I think this is as good as I can make it for the moment.
Such an interesting idea for a piece! I love how you implemented the abstraction. Also spotted the creepy figures in the back, hehe. 
What a striking piece! The bright pink works so well, and the shapes of the swirls are gorgeous, particularly to the right of the centre. The bird silhouettes also look great, as does the overall composition
