Taking reference of the blue battle avatar and over world sprite, I recreated them with some changes yet still familiar to the original. Especially given his new design(the one of Gary oak) felt like another person entirely. Also, I used his Game Boy Color palette(2 gen).

Weekly Challenge: Weird Remake
Oh, that makes sense, kinda like remake(or hack ROM) of Pokemon crystal or something like that. Though cant lie it was the intent, given the original rival sprite were a bit odd looking(minus the poke league battle sprite; he literally gets a hair cut and turns to Gary).
